splashes of pink and dashes of red

Valentine's Day would not be complete without a little red and pink to punch up your interior! Take a look at some of these great looking spaces: some with just a dash of color, others with just a little bit more!

A Kitchen Worth a Mention

We had the pleasure of working with this client over the last several years.  Marjorie even awarded her the title, "dream client".  Now you know this is serious.

Photographed in this month's Birmingham Magazine is only a small portion of the project, but you can clearly notice the client's superb taste and classic style.  Let's let the pictures do the talking:

Barstools: McAlpine Home's Upright Bar Mate.  Pendant Lights: Urban Electric's Carolyn Single.

Lantern: Henhouse Antiques

Sconces: Urban Electric's Belle Meade.   Banquet design by Al Neel.

Sconce: Waterworks' Fairfax Single Arm

Ottoman Fabric: Schumacher's Cheetah Velvet in Champagne
Rug: Paige Albright Orientals

Peter Dunham...because Spring can't get here fast enough

We know it may be way to early to start wishing for Spring... but with these gloomy days that seem to hang around forever, we had to do so something!

Peter Dunham might be just what we need to help get us through the next round of rainy days :) He was raised in France, spent his Summers in Spain, and now designs for clients all over the world while maintaining a home in Los Angeles. Not too shabby, Mr. Dunham!

His fabrics are fun, vibrant, worldly, and best of all- they are hand painted:

A Classic Color

Navy is such a classic color, and here recently it has been used in some non-traditional ways.

Think cabinet color.
Maybe you are looking for a way to change up your all white kitchen (which I'm sure is fabulous), but hate to loose the marble you sought after for months and months?

Consider Navy!

If you don'y want to commit to all over navy, look how well the navy contrasts against the white and how yummy it looks with the brass pulls!

ALL GIRL

Wendy had the pleasure of designing a young teen girls room back in May. To see the room you may think, "Wow that is a whole lotta pink!", but if you knew this sweet child, you would totally understand why Wendy went  ALL GIRL on this one. The room was put together in seriously, 2 days. Shopping on day 1 and the install came the next day. Big thanks to A Wise Move for their heavy lifting, and to Stephen Dickerson for making the window panels in less than 48 hours!!

Plum Perfect Pad

One of our most recent jobs was to tackle a dated attic space turned bedroom. The client is a Dad to the sweetest girl, so naturally he wanted to give her a space where friends could come over, hangout, watch tv and then spend the night! We asked Slate Barganier if they would come in and handle the construction, and they did a fantastic job!
Because it was an attic, there were 5 dormer windows, which meant awkward ceiling heights and angles... Oh, joy! We pushed out 2 of the 5 to create more room and eliminate a narrow hall. The third, we turned window seat and added sconce lighting for a great reading area. A vanity and desk were added in the last 2...no wasted space in this project! All the windows were treated with roman shades created by the one and only Stephen Dickerson.

This project ultimately has 4 rooms: bathroom, bedroom, daybed alcove, and tv lounge.
Take a look!

Simple and Festive Tablescapes

The table is one of the most important parts of the holiday season. It is where we gather, where stories are shared, and memories are made. Here are some great ideas to make your table the perfect setting for your Thanksgiving meal!
Keep it natural and use earthy/neutral colors, and if you can, use elements from outside.
